The Sainte-Baume is a mountain ridge spreading between the Département of Bouches-du-Rhone and the Var in Southern France known as the Provence. Its summit is 1148 m. high(3766 feet). It is the place where Mary-Magdalene retired on a hill near Marseille. The Holy Cave is where she give herself up to a life of penance for thirty years.
La Sainte-Baume est une crête de montagnes qui s’étend du Département des Bouches-du-Rhone jusqu’au Var dans le sud de la France connu comme la Provence. Son sommet est de 1148 m de haut(3766 pi.). C’est l’endroit où Marie-Madeleine s’est retirée sur la colline près de Marseille. La Sainte-Cave (Baume) où elle mena une vie de pénitence pendant trente ans.
