Hatchi-Hachiko

I just finished the film with Richard Gere about this Japanese dog who awaited his deceased master at the train station for 9 years. This story comes from Shibuya- Tokyo, Japan and the dog is a Atika Inu. The scene pictured is reproduced from the International Mosaicultures 2013 in Montreal and was made available by Japan for the occasion.

Je viens de terminer le film avec Richard Gere concernant ce chien japonais qui a attendu son maître décédé à la gare pendant 9 ans. Cette histoire vient de Tokyo-Shibuya au Japon et le chien est un Atika Inu. Cette scène photographiée est reproduite au Mosaïcultures Internationales 2013 à Montréal et a été fait par le Japon pour l’occasion.

One film, two films! yes, but also a real fact, in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1856, a Skye terrier named Bobby went with his master John Gray in a bar every day at 13h for lunch but the dog was also given a bun and a bone. After the death of John Gray, the dog slept near the grave in the cemetery but went to the restaurant to eat every day on cannon shots at 13h for 14 years. He inspired two films, the first one of Disney in 1961 and another in 2005.

Un film, deux films! oui, mais aussi un fait bien réel, à Édimbourg, Écosse 1856, un Skye terrier du nom de Bobby allait avec son maître John Gray dans un bistro à tous les jours à 13h pour le lunch mais aussi le chien recevait une brioche et un os. Après la mort de John Gray, le chien dormait sur la tombe au cimetière mais allait au restaurant pour manger à tous les jours sur les coups de canon de 13h et ce, pendant 14 années. Il inspira deux films, le premier de Disney en 1961 et un autre en 2005.

Beautiful victorian house-Magnifique maison victorienne

There are a multitude of Victorian house in Cape May and I really think this is the Victorian capital of the United States but at least in New Jersey. This style of houses reminds us of the history of this great country, but also the slavery that some films like Django Unchained tells us snippets.

Il y a une multitude de maisons victoriennes à Cape May et je pense vraiment que c’est la capitale victorienne des États-Unis mais à tout le moins du New Jersey. Ce style de maisons nous rappelle l’histoire de ce grand pays mais aussi de l’esclavage dont certains films comme Django Unchained nous en raconte des bribes.
