Le rhus typhina possède pour moi une particularité, il est annonciateur. En effet, ses feuilles rougeoient dès le déclin de la lumière, annonçant ainsi la venue de l’automne. Il est magnifique lorsque l’arbuste en forme de dôme rend écarlate une partie de la forêt.
The rhus typhina has a particularity for me, it is a harbinger. Indeed, its leaves glow red from the decline of light, heralding the coming of autumn. It is beautiful when the shrub domed makes part of the forest scarlet.
En forêt tout comme aux mangeoires, le chardonneret jaune charme ceux qui le suivent avec sa couleur jaune vif. Même en vol, on le reconnaît facilement. Une petite calotte noire sur le crane comme pour le protéger et des ailes noires rayées de blanc complètent sa toilette.
In forests as at the feeders, the American Goldfinch charms those who follow it with its deep yellow color. Even in flight, it can be recognized easily. A small black cap on the skull as if to protect it and black wings with white stripes complement its dress.
Dans la forêt laurentienne de l’est du Canada, le lynx chasse surtout le lièvre mais il peut aussi s’attaquer aux castors et aux renards. Cette photo, un gros plan, d’un jeune d’environ 1 an a été prise au Biodôme de Montréal grâce à une journée spéciale organisée pour des photographes amateurs et permettant l’équipement approprié.
In the Laurentian forest of eastern Canada, the lynx is especially hunting hare but it can also tackle the beavers and foxes.
