Chateau Frontenac

A much-photographed place in Quebec City, Chateau Frontenac, a popular hotel is a member of the Fairmont chain. Designated historic site of Canada in 1980, it was the residence of the governor of Lower Canada. The castle is the icon of the city of Quebec and its ambassador across the world.

Un endroit très photographié de la ville de Québec, le Château Frontenac, un hôtel très prisé qui est membre de la chaine  Fairmont. Désigné site historique du Canada en 1980, il fut la résidence des gouverneurs du Bas-Canada. Le château est l’icône de la ville de Québec et son ambassadeur à travers le monde.

Château Frontenac, Québec

The Château Frontenac is a grand hotel in Quebec City. It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1980. Prior to the building of the hotel, the site was occupied by the Chateau Haldimand, residence of the British colonial governors of Lower Canada and Quebec. The Château Frontenac is one of the most photographed building in Canada and I took this picture while visiting Quebec City with my photo club.

Le Château Frontenac est le grand hôtel de la ville de Québec. Il a été désigné   « Site historique national du Canada » en 1980. Avant la construction de l’hôtel, ce site était occupé par le Château Haldimand qui était la résidence des Gouverneurs britanniques du Bas-Canada et Québec. Le Château Frontenac est un des édifices canadiens le plus photographié et j’ai effectivement pris cette photo lors d’une visite organisée par mon club photo.

Today, a piece of architecture that every photographers had, once in their life, pictured. We all like the look of a spiral staircase because it seems to unwind to the infinite. This one comes from an hotel that I cannot recall the name, if someone knows please tell me, but we slept there for three nights some years ago.

Aujourd’hui, un peu d’architecture que tous les photographes, une fois dans leur vie, ont photographié. Nous aimons, tous,  les escaliers en colimaçon parce qu’ elles semblent se dérouler jusqu’à l’infini. Celle-ci vient d’un hôtel dont je ne me souviens pas le nom, si vous savez prière de me le dire, nous y avons séjournés trois jours il y a quelques années.
