The « genoese bridge » is an expression that defines a set of stone work of art built mainly by the Genoese in Corsica. Although neglected for centuries, they are still showing surprising strength. Indeed, their height and position to a wide area of the stream are calculated in anticipation of some sudden and violent floods of the Mediterranean climate.
Le « pont génois« est une expression qui définit un ensemble d’ouvrage d’art en pierre construit principalement par les Génois en Corse. Bien qu’abandonné durant des siècles, ils font toujours preuve d’une étonnante solidité. En effet, leur hauteur et leur position à un endroit large du cours d’eau sont calculées en prévision des crues parfois subites et violentes du climat méditerranéen.
