The walls of the library are supported by sixteen flying buttresses, the arrangement as well as other details of the design was reached with the input of the then parliamentary librarian Alpheus Todd. The Victorian High Gothic Style fits with the rest of parliamentary complex inspired of the Italian Gothic Style. Finally the combination of colours conformed with the picturesque style known as structural polychromy.

Les murs de la bibliothèque suivent un plan hexadécagonal, cet arrangement et plusieurs autres détails du design furent suggérés par le premier bibliothécaire parlementaire, Alpheus Todd. L’architecture néogothique de l’ère victorienne s’agence bien avec le reste des édifices de la colline de style gothique italien. Enfin la palette de couleurs utilisée s’ajuste au pittoresque style de la polychromie structurale.

A national monument of France, the Cathedral Holy Saviour, was built from the 1st century on the Roman Forum of Aix. Built and re-built from 12th until 19th it includes Romanesque, Gothic and Neo-Gothic elements.

Un monument national de la France, la Cathédrale du Saint-Sauveur, qui fut construit à partir du 1er siècle sur le site du Forum romain d’Aix. Elle fut par la suite modelée et remodelée du 12e au 19e siècle et inclut divers éléments d’architecture Romane, Gothique et Néo-Gothique.
